Saints eye round one
Although Rendell said that most of the club's players were 'up and running' in the Wizard Cup opener against Adelaide, the Saints were still adopting a wait-and-see approach for the remainder of the pre-season competition. "The main aim is to prepare for round one", Rendell told afl.com.au. Rendell indicated that the anticipation was already building for the Saints' twilight clash against Richmond at Telstra Dome on Sunday, adding that it would be great to see a strong '30,000' crowd for the match.

Harvs - An influentual icon
Entering his 17th season, one thing is clear. Robert Harvey is still the heart and soul of St Kilda. This icon of AFL football and one of the most decorated players in the modern era can still do what he does best. While most ageing players nowadays don't make even a solid contribution, this prolific football magnet continued his Brownlow Medal winning form in season 2003. He was always amongst the best players in each game, including a blinder against Hawthorn in Round 10 where he got 40 possessions. Averaging almost 27 touches a game, his outstanding form earned the champion a spot on the 2003 All Australian team.

Hamstring sidelines Koschitzke
The 21 year-old has been carefully managed by the Saints in the off-season after battling persistent back trouble, but injured his hamstring during the club's defeat of Adelaide last Sunday. He did not return to the field after the half-time break. After winning the Rising Star award in 2001, Koschitzke had his second season ruined by injury but managed 17 matches in 2003 despite requiring a month's lay-off due to an ankle complaint.
